9mobile now operates as T2 Mobile. This transition guide separates the name change from the harmonised Nigerian codes subscribers use for balances, data, recharge, support and NIN-SIM services, and explains how to verify an old 9mobile instruction before acting.

The network previously branded 9mobile now uses the name T2 Mobile. The brand change does not create a new set of Nigeria-wide short codes. For everyday tasks, T2 subscribers can still begin with the harmonised routes below and then follow the live T2 menu.

What changed and what did not

Need Route What to confirm
Airtime balance *310# The result belongs to the selected T2 line
Voucher recharge *311*PIN# The voucher digits are entered once
Data plans *312# Current allowance, price, validity and renewal
Data balance *323# Every active bucket and expiry
Customer care 300 A support reference for a complaint
NIN-SIM service *996# Whether an in-person identity check is required

How to treat an instruction that still says 9mobile

An older page, saved screenshot or phone menu may still use the 9mobile name. Do not reject it only because the old brand appears, but do not trust it automatically either. Check whether the instruction leads to a current harmonised code, appears on T2’s official domain or is confirmed by the live menu on your line.

Legacy direct strings for old plans can survive online after the plan has changed. Use *312# to view what T2 currently offers instead of copying a price-specific code from an undated list. If the phone displays a different price, allowance or renewal status, the live confirmation screen controls the transaction.

Run a T2 data check safely

  1. Select the T2 SIM, which the phone may still label 9mobile.
  2. Dial *323# and note the balance and expiry.
  3. To buy data, start a separate session with *312#.
  4. Read the complete offer before confirming.
  5. After payment, check *323# again and keep the confirmation message.

Separating “check” from “buy” helps avoid an accidental second purchase. If an allowance does not arrive, save the transaction details and contact T2 rather than paying an unofficial recovery account.

Borrowing, sharing and subscription control

*303# opens borrowing services where the line is eligible. *321# opens sharing services, and *305# is used to review or stop value-added services. Each menu can ask for additional information. Read the recipient, amount, fee or cancellation result before leaving the session.

A service not appearing in the menu may be unavailable to that line. Eligibility cannot be activated by a website, unofficial helper or social-media agent. Use T2’s official support route for an account-specific explanation.

When a T2 code fails

First check voice signal and the selected SIM. End the expired window, re-enter the code and retry once. A device may continue showing the old network label after the rebrand; the label alone does not mean the SIM has stopped working. Persistent registration, roaming or identity problems should go to official support or an experience centre.

For a missing debit or bundle, collect the number, time, amount, bank or airtime reference and the exact response. Never post those details publicly, and never include a PIN, password or OTP.

Prefer a current menu to an archived plan shortcut

Retired plan codes create risk when a user cannot see the present price or recipient before authorising. The harmonised menu makes the current T2-controlled choice visible and gives support a clearer starting point when something fails.

Describe the network clearly in a support report

When reporting a failed transaction, say “T2 Mobile, formerly 9mobile” if the bank alert, handset label or older receipt still uses the previous name. Include the affected number, date, time, amount and response, but leave out the PIN, password and OTP. This wording helps the support agent match a new brand name with an older system record without assuming that the transaction belonged to a different network.

Sources and verification boundary
