1. Scope and our commitment
This Privacy Policy applies to nigeriaussdcodes.com and the pages, tools, downloads and Knowledge Center content published under the Nigeria USSD Codes name. Nigeria USSD Codes is an independent information platform. We explain Nigerian banking USSD, mobile-network services, payment problems, digital safety and related public-service processes. We are not a bank, telecom provider, fintech company, payment processor or government agency.
We aim to collect as little personal information as reasonably necessary. The site is designed for reading and self-service searches. You do not need to create an account to use the public guides or tools. We do not ask for or intentionally collect your banking PIN, card PIN, OTP, BVN, NIN, password, full card information or account login details. Do not include those details in an email, support message or correction report.
For privacy questions, Nigeria USSD Codes can be contacted at [email protected]. Please write “Privacy Request” in the subject line so the request can be identified and handled appropriately.
2. Information we may handle
The following examples explain 2. Information we may handle and show how the guidance applies in different situations.
Information you choose to provide
If you contact us, report a correction or submit a support request, we may receive your email address and the message you send. Some site forms prepare an email in your own email application rather than transmitting the message directly through the website. In that situation, your email provider processes the message under its own privacy terms.
Public article comments are disabled. If you send a correction or support message, we receive only the information you choose to provide through that route. Do not include financial credentials, complete identity records or another person’s private information.
Technical and usage information
Like most websites, hosting, security, analytics or advertising services may receive technical information when a page loads. This can include IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, requested URL, approximate region, date and time, and security or error logs. Cloudflare may process request information while providing hosting, content delivery, performance and security services.
Information stored on your device
The site may use local storage for interface preferences. Local storage remains in your browser until it is cleared by you, removed by browser settings or replaced by a later value. We do not use local storage as a substitute for permission to collect sensitive financial information.
4. Why we use information
We may use information to answer messages, review correction reports, prevent spam or abuse, protect the site, understand technical failures, maintain service reliability and improve guides or tools. When advertising or aggregate analytics is enabled, information may also be processed to measure site usage, limit repeated ads, detect invalid activity and support site funding.
Depending on the circumstances, processing may be based on your consent, steps you request us to take, legal obligations, or legitimate interests such as operating a secure information service, responding to users and improving content. We do not sell a list of contact email addresses. We do not use a correction report to access or operate a user’s bank, telecom or government account.
6. Children and sensitive information
The site provides general public information and is not designed to collect personal information from children. A child should use identity, banking or SIM services with a parent, guardian or other appropriate adult where required. If we learn that personal information was submitted by a child without appropriate authority, we may remove it where reasonably possible.
Never post a PIN, OTP, BVN, NIN, password, full account number, full card number, identity document or private transaction record in a public message or correction report. If such information appears in a submission, we may reject, redact or delete it for safety.
7. Your privacy choices and rights
Subject to applicable law and relevant exceptions, you may request information about personal data we hold about you, ask for inaccurate data to be corrected, request deletion or restriction, withdraw consent where consent is the basis, or object to certain processing. You may also object to direct marketing. We may need enough information to verify that the request relates to you, but we will not ask for a banking PIN or OTP to process a privacy request.
Nigeria’s data-protection framework includes rights and obligations under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. You may learn more or make an appropriate complaint through the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. Rights can vary depending on location, the information involved and the lawful reason for keeping it.
8. Policy changes
We may update this policy when the site adds a service, changes hosting or form technology, enables advertising, adopts a consent platform, or when legal and regulatory requirements change. The effective date at the top will be revised. Material changes may also be highlighted on the site.
9. Contact us
Send privacy questions or requests to [email protected]. For an article correction that does not involve a privacy request, use Support or email [email protected].
Nigeria USSD Codes will not ask for your PIN, OTP, BVN, NIN, card PIN, password or account login details in order to answer a privacy request.
